How to Adjust the Forward/Reverse Direction of Lvhua Curtain Motors
During the installation and commissioning of smart hotel curtains, it is common for the motor to run in the opposite direction of the switch “Open” command. To help installers and hotel maintenance teams solve this problem quickly, Lvhua Electronics has standardized the direction adjustment procedures for four motor types: wireless, wired, RS485, and dry contact. All steps are simple and require no professional tools.
Why Does Motor Direction Reversal Happen?
When motors leave the factory, we cannot know the actual wiring layout, reserved power position, or whether the motor will be installed on the left or right side at the customer site. Therefore, the factory default direction cannot be pre-set to match every installation scenario. This is normal and can be easily fixed within one minute by following our tutorial video. (Full instructional video is available at the bottom of this page.)
1. Wireless Motor Direction Adjustment
Locate the hollow setting button next to the motor indicator. Short press once (do not press repeatedly, as this may clear motor settings). Then hold the button until the motor jogs. The direction is now reversed and matched with the switch.
2. Wired Motor Direction Adjustment
This issue is usually caused by reversed forward and reverse wiring at the switch. Turn off the power, swap the two control wires, then restore power to correct the direction.
3. RS485 Motor Direction Adjustment
Press and hold the setting button next to the indicator for 5 seconds. Release when the indicator lights up twice. Press and hold again for 2 seconds until the indicator flashes to complete setting.
4. Dry Contact Motor Direction Adjustment
Same as the wired motor: the forward and reverse wires are connected incorrectly at the switch. Swap the two wires after power-off, and the direction will return to normal once powered on.
